Poland’s world No. 1 Iga Świątek has advanced to the semifinals of the Stuttgart Open tennis tournament in Germany, with a straight-set win over Emma Raducanu of Britain.
The Polish top seed dispatched the 303rd-ranked British player 7-6, 6-3 in the quarterfinals of the women's singles on Friday after a grueling two hours and four minutes on court, news outlets reported.

In February, Świątek won the Qatar Open in Doha for the third consecutive time.
The 22-year-old Pole in November regained her spot at the top of the world rankings in women's tennis after winning the season-ending WTA Finals tournament in Mexico.
She now leads the WTA rankings with 10,835 points, ahead of Belarusian Aryna Sabalenka, with 8,045 points, and American Coco Gauff, with 7,205.
The 2024 Stuttgart Open runs until Sunday.
