Zespół The White Stripes został założony w 1997 roku w Detroit przez gitarzystę Jacka White’a i perkusistkę Meg White. W 2003 roku wydał album "Elephant", na którym znalazła się kompozycja "Seven Nations Army" z jednym z najsłynniejszych riffów gitarowych w historii muzyki rockowej.
