Team Poland won 14 medals, one gold, seven silver, and six bronze, at the 16th European Youth Olympic Winter Festival, which ended in Italy on Saturday.
The European Youth Olympic Festival (EYOF) is an international youth sports event held every two years.
Athletes aged 14 to 18 from 50 countries can participate and showcase their skills.
This year's event, held in Italy's Friuli-Venezia Giulia region, included Alpine skiing, biathlon, cross-country skiing, curling, figure skating, freestyle skiing, ice hockey, short track, ski jumping, mountaineering, and snowboarding competitions.
Polish 'Olympians of the future'
The Polish team put up its best performance in the history of the event, according to officials.
"We are delighted and proud," said Konrad Niedźwiedzki, a former Olympic speed skater who was in charge of Team Poland's EYOF 2023 mission. "This was the finest performance by young Polish athletes in the history of such winter festivals."
In terms of the number of medals won, Poland finished fifth in the event overall, tying with Sweden, Polish state news agency PAP reported.
