Iga Świątek wins US Open

Poland’s world No. 1 Iga Świątek triumphed over Tunisia's Ons Jabeur in the final of the women’s singles competition at the US Open Grand Slam tennis tournament in New York on Saturday.
In her first ever US Open final, the 21-year-old Pole defeated Jabeur, seeded fifth, 6:2, 7:6 (7-5), in their match at Flushing Meadows.
It was Świątek’s third career Grand Slam final, her second of the year and the first outside the red clay of Roland Garros.
Świątek had so far claimed six WTA titles in 2022, including the French Open, winning a total of 56 matches.
