Poland will play a pre-World Cup friendly game against Chile, Polish football officials have announced.
The match will be played at the National Stadium in Warsaw on November 16 in the run-up to this year's World Cup in Qatar, according to the Polish Football Association (PZPN), the national governing body for the sport.
“We want to face off against Chile because it is a team that in many ways resembles the national teams of Argentina and Mexico, who will be our opponents in the group stage of the World Cup in Qatar," PZPN head Cezary Kulesza said, as cited by Polish state news agency PAP.
Poland, captained by star striker Robert Lewandowski, qualified for the 2022 World Cup after defeating Sweden 2-0 in a playoff at home in late March.
The have been drawn to play Argentina, Mexico and Saudi Arabia in the group stage of the tournament.
The 2022 World Cup will be held in Qatar from November 20 to December 18.
